Castleton from Peveril

There is a great view from Peveril Castle over the rooftops of Castleton. Once again this painting has used huge artistic license. Hidden in the picture are cafes, pubs, gift shops, a visitor centre, old mansion houses and a fish and chip shop. Apart from the main town being such a base for walking and other sports, the surrounding area is a hive of agricultural industry, which is depicted in my painting. As a family we have always loved going there at Christmastime. We love the brightly lit Christmas trees above all the shops on the Main Street and visits to the Christmas Grotto. Perhaps a subject for another painting?
