Road to Hathersage

This painting incorporates many features of Hathersage. I love the sweeping road coming down toHathersedge through the hills from Sheffield, and the stunning views of the Derwent valley in its very many moods. We have fond memories of trips to the park there, summer and winter. We have had an occasional swim in the open air pool there, countless coffee and cakes in Cintra's or nearby tea rooms, and walks up to the church and through surrounding fields and country roads. For us as a family it has generally been the first stop out from Sheffield and a welcome place just to potter around.
